Overall, the rate between the two given areas fluctuated from the beginning to the end of the year 2012. Besides, the jobless condition in rural areas was more serious and popular than in metropolitan.
Firstly, in the countryside, the unemployment rate witnessed a significant decrease from about 6,5 per cent to only 4,5% between the first 2 quarters of the year. In the next quarter, the figure rose to nearly 5,5% and keep fluctuating until the end of the year with the final rate of merely 5 per cent.
Secondly, in the city, the unemployment proportion seemed to decline but still oscillated over the whole year. In the first quarter of 2012, the rate experienced a steady surge from over 2% to approximately 4% while in the next quarter the mentioned figure dropped to the starting number. In the two ending periods of 2012, the unemployment rate in urban Australia increased stably from 2% to nearly 5% except for a slight tumble at the end of the third quarter.
