The given charts give the picture of number of UK residents who visited abroad and number of overseas residents who visited UK in the period between 1979 and 1999 and the popular countries among UK residents more specifically in the year 1999.
It is evident from the chart that visitors visiting UK were always less than number of UK residents visiting other countries. Both visits to and from the UK increased substantially after the year 1984 and also the difference between from the UK trips and to the UK trips rose exponentially after this year with UK residents visiting abroad was almost double the number of overseas residents visiting UK in 1999.
France was the most popular country amongst UK travellers in the year 1999 with more than 10 million UK visitors visiting this country followed by Spain, USA, Greece and Turkey.
