This is such a clear-cut evidence from the supplied information that most of figures in both kinds of countries went up, excepted to spending on Research and Development from 1980 to 1990. In addition, industrialised countries always had the higher levels of each factor contributing to education and science than the other kind of countries.

To begin with, it can be seen clearly that average years spending on schooling in developed nations rose slightly, with over 2 years in 1980 and about 3 years in 1990. By contrast, those in industrialised countries enjoyed a significant growth during the period from 1980 to 1990, which stood at over 8 years and over 10 years respectively.

The same situation took place in the number of scientists and technicians per 1000 people. Unquestionably, about 10 scientists and technicians were in developing countries in 1980 and in 1990, it was only over 10 people. Nevertheless, the rate of scientists and technicians participating in industrialised countries saw a considerate increase from over 40 people in 1980 to nearly 70 people in 1990.
