Overall, as is seen from pies illustration, the water used for agriculture is worldwide except Europe and North America, where most of the water is utilized for industrial purposes. The last rate of water is used for domestic purposes in the Asia region, Africa, Europe, and North America.
Europe and North America have a significantly higher water consumption rate in industries taking up 53% and48%, respectively. In comparison, the proportion of water use in industrial and domestic purposes is less than 20% in combination in Asia region and Africa; only South America accounts for 29% in combination in the same purposes with the highest rate of domestic water use(19%).
Asia region (Central, South East), Africa and South America consumed almost third forth of water consumption for industrial purposes. In contrast, North America and Europe water utilized for the same purpose are 48% and 38% respectively.
