Overall, while oil was the dominant fuel in providing energy in the country, renewable energy was least used throughout the period.
In the first year, there was around 52% energy generated from oil, which was higher than 22% of nuclear. After that, those figures experienced a slight decrease at around 39% and 17% respectively in 2003. The energy production from hydrogen remained constantly at roughly 4% during the period.
In comparison, natural gas made up approximately 13% in producing energy followed by that of coal (8%). 18 years later, both those figures increased nearly twofold at 23% for the former and 13% for the latter.
