Contained in the first line graph is data pertaining to the amount of money that British parents spent on their children's sports while the second one represented the number of their offsprings who joined in three different selected sports from 2008 to 2014. Overall, the trend illustrated in both graphs was upward during the period.
Regarding the first graph, one sees a pattern of increase. It is clear that the average spent rose steadily by approximately 12 pounds per month, jumping from exactly 20 pounds/month in 2008 to just over 30 pounds/month in 2014.
Turning to the next graph, the trend in evidence was one of growth. Over the given period, the most popular sport for British children was football, thus the number of children participating in this sport started at about 8 millions and then grew gradually to around 9 millions in 2014. The trend was similar for swimming, which witnessed a moderate climb from just under 2.5 millions to about 4 millions as the period ended. However, in spite of commencing with the lowest point, which was not over 1 millions, the number of children joining in athletics rocketed to a peak at 5 millions in 2012 before a slight decrease to just under 5 millions. In addition, from 2010 to 2012, there was a noticeable event that the number of children who took part in athletics surpassed the number of children who chose swimming, making athletics became the second favorite sports.
