The line graph compares the amount of money spent on buying books in Germany, France, Italy and Austria over a period of ten years between 1995 and 2005.
Overall, highest money spent on books by Germany's people throughout the period. Whereas, lowest books purchased by those people who live in Austria from the starting years and at the end of the period less money spent on buying books in Italy.
In 1995, Austria spent least amount of money on books 30 millions US dollars. It showed a steady but significant rise throughout the period, exceeding Italy's amount of money in the beginning of 2003 and reaching almost 71 millions US dollars at the end of the period. While, France and Italy spent about as much as each other about 52 and 50 millions US dollars respectively in 1995. However, by 2001, the gap in spending between these two countries had widened and considerably more money was spent in France nearly 75 millions US dollars than In Italy almost 62 millions US dollars.
Furthermore, during this ten-year period, Germany remained the biggest spenders on book from 80 millions US dollars in 1995 to around 95 millions US dollars in 2005, with all three other countries spending much less on them.
