The graph makes a comparison of the average carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions per citizen in the United Kingdom, Sweden, Italy and Portugal through forty-year-period from 1967 to 2007.
It is apparent from the data supplies that, while the carbon dioxide emission in the United Kingdom and Sweden had decreased gradually, the Italian and Portuguese had released CO2 in the same period.
In accordance with the line graph, both the United Kingdom and Sweden people witnessed a drop in carbon dioxide emission. With regards to the United Kingdom, it was first had the highest amount of carbon dioxide discharge which constituted with 10 metric tonnes of CO2 in 1967, it then fell down slightly to approximately 9 metric tonnes in 2007. However, the amount of carbon dioxide released of Sweden had a different tendency, to be more specific, it first accounted for about 8.5 metric tonnes in 1967 and then it suddenly reached its peak of over 10 metric tonnes after ten years before dramatically dropping to about 6 metric tonnes in 2007.
When it comes to the other two countries, Portugal had the lowest amount of carbon dioxide emissions per people which contributes to about 1 metric tonnes, after that this country witnessed a sharp rise in the amount of emission and gradually increased until it reached 5 metric tonnes in 2007. Having the same tendency, the Italian discharged about 4 metric tonnes of gases in 1967 and increased by 3 metric tonnes which stand for 7 metric tonnes in the last year.
