The line graph gives detailed information about how much time to produce a car by four different companies in America over a period of 7 years from 1998 to 2005. Looking more closely at the chart, it is obvious from the data that the time of the manufacturing process for one vehicle decreased in every manufacturer.
According to the graph, General Motor spent time the most to build a car at 32 hours per vehicle at the beginning and followed by Ford at 28 hours. The rate of car produced in Toyota and Honda companies was the same rate at 22 hours in 1998. The speed in the manufacturing process of General Motor, however, was better over the period. They could produce a car within 22 hours in 2005, while the Ford company spent time producing these vehicles around 21 hours after they had to spend 31 hours, which is the highest producing time for the company, to build a car in 2001.
On top of that, the manufacturing speed of Toyota and Honda fluctuated between 20 and 24 hours per vehicle. It is interesting to note that these two factories were able to manufacture a car at the same speed between 2001 and 2002 at 22 and 24 hours respectively. At the end of the period, both of them were also the same at 20 hours a car.
