The graph below shows the consumption of 3 spreads from 1981 to 2007.
The line graph depicts the amount of three different kinds of spreads ( margarine, low fat and reduced spreads and butter) usage was over 26 years between 1981 and 2007. Units are measured in grams.
Overall, margarine and butter had been shown less consumption over the period given, while low fat and reduced spreads were being had significant use, at the initial time, then this trend was gradually declined, till end of the year. Although, there were some fluctuations.
It can be seen that, the quantity of butter used, it began at around 140 grams and then peaked at 160 grams in 1986 before falling dramatically to about 50 grams in the final year.
Likewise, approximately 90 grams of margarine was eaten in the first year after which the figure slightly dropped to a low of 40 grams prior to 100 grams increase in 1991. Further more, this figure was slowly shrinked and hit to 40 grams in the last year.
In addition, the consumption of low fat and reduced spreads started from around 10 grams in 1996 before a Sharp raise in 1997 (just over 80 grams) and stood at 40 grams in 2007.
However, butter had almost falling figure whilst margarine was showing average pattern. In contrast, in the last 11 years low fat and reduced spreads were having significant trend.
