According to this chart, the number of people having age 65 and over is generally going to rise in future. However, among these countries Japan will have a considerable increase in those population.
In 1940, all three countries had percentage below 10. It is clear that, USA and Sweden increased gradually till 1980. In contrast, Japan decreased the percentage from 5% to 3% Over this time. Although, Sweden kept on increasing the percentage with few fluctuations during 1980 And 2022, USA maintained a constant figure. However, Japan got gradual increase from 3% to 10%.
Also, from 2020 till 2040, It is predicted that USA and Sweden Will constantly increase their percentage Ending at 23% And 25% respectively. Japan, On the other hand, will encounter steep increase in this year’s ending at 27%.
