The graph shows the proportion of energy that was produced from coal in four European countries from 1995 to 2010
The line graph illustrates the comparison of energy production from coal among Sweden, France, Denmark and Germany, over a 15 year period.
Overall, it is apparent that, the percentage of energy produced from coal was declined over time for all countries.
In 1995, Denmark and Germany showed similar trend for the energy production by coal, which started between 55% and 60%. The energy production by Denmark followed a gradual decrease over time and in 2004, it reached at 20% and remained stable over following three years. Then it again dropped by 10% in 2010. Same scenario was occurred for Germany, its energy production reached a low of 5% in 2007, and again increased to near about 18% in 2010.
On the other hand, Sweden and France was the lowest energy producer from coal than Denmark and Germany. But at the end of the period, their level of energy production surpassed the production of Denmark and Germany. Although the percentage of energy production stood between 30% to 35% for Sweden and France, their proportion fluctuated over a 15 year period, and it remained between 20% and 30%.
