Households owning and renting accomodation in England and Wales 1918 to 2011
The chart illustrates the proportion of people who posses and lease accommodation from 1918 to 2011 in two different British countries named England and Wales.
Overall, it is clear that the percentage of citizen who owned houses was higher than those who rented accommodation throughout the time period in England and Wales.
At the first glance, the percentage of tenant accommodation moderately went down just over 9% from 1918 to 1939 and there was an equal in 1953. Regardless, the amount was went down quickly until 2001 and then rose steadily over 7% in 2011.
In contrast, the percentage of families owned their house were substantially increase just over 10% from 1918 to 1939. Furthermore, the percentage was remain stable until 1953 and dramatically increased until 1991. However, there was a slightly increase in the portion of home owner from 1991 to 2001 before decreased slowly over next 10 years.
