The maps below show the village of Stokeford in the years 1930 and 2010. The map of 2010 illustrates the changes incorporated in the village over a period of 80 years.
In the year 1930, the hamlet Stokeford was mostly covered by farmland in the . As revealed by the map, it had a couple of shops acoompanied by a post office which was just located adjacent the main road. It can be seen in the map that are very few residential houses in the village and all the houses, shops and post offices are connected by the central main road. The hamlet had a large garden with large house was situated in the middle of it flanked by trees on both sides.
The village underwent significant modifications in the next 80 years. As shown by the map in 2010, the farmlands in the southwestern and northeastern sector along with the shops are completely demolished. In its place, a lot of residential places have come up. The Primary school was modernised and made bigger. The map suggests that lot of side roads have been added that are surrounded by houses on both sides. The size of the garden has been reduced considerably while the erstwhile large house is replaced by a larger Retirement home. So, the village of Strokeford has seen a lot of changes since 1930 but the bridge over the river and the post office still stands unchanged.
