The percentage of school aged boys in tüo different age groups üho participated in 5 different sports in the UK in 2010
The table shows information about the proportion of boys in two age bracket who were interested in five different sport activities, in Britain, in 2010.
Overall, it is obvious that the most popular sport was football among the individuals of both, 6-11 and 12-16 age groups, while swimming was the least preferable.
According to the table, the biggest majority of boys (87%) aged 6-11 were involved in football, whereas the cricket came second, making up 45% of the total. Another 35% accounted by basketball, followed by rugby at 23% and only 19% of boys in this group went swimming in their leisure time.
When it comes to 12-16 age bracket, here also football came top, with 78% of all preferable sport activities, as compared to 34% for cricket. Precisely a quarter of boys whose age between 12 and 16 enjoyed playing basketball, which was slightly higher than that for rugby, at 21%. The figure for swimming was the same as in the younger group, accounting for by 19% of the whole.
