The pictures below show how tomato ketchup is made.
The drawing illustrates the main stages which take place in the process of making tomato ketchup.
Overall, there are fifteen steps in the process, beginning with harvesting tomatoes and ending with using tomato ketchup as a flavor with some dishes.
At the beginning of the process, tomatoes are picked and put in a basket by the farmer. After that, they are divided into two groups: bad and good tomatoes so that the quality of the ketchup can be ensured. At this point, good tomatoes are sent to the factory by a lorry, where they are removed some unnecessary parts, including removing stalk, seeds, and skin. Once the tomatoes are stored in a container, they are crushed to become liquid. Subsequent to that, sugar, vinegar and salt are added. The following step is that the liquid is boiled and then left for two hours in order to get the right temperature.
At the tenth stage of the process, after making tomato ketchup, it is poured into bottles and then labelled. Before packaging, they are checked to control the quality. Following this, they are loaded onto boxes, and delivered to the supermarket to sell. The final step is that you buy a bottle of tomato ketchup, and serve it with chips and hamburger.
