The chart show data about the proportion of typical expenditure for three different categories in 5 countries namely Ireland, Italy, Spain, Sweden and Turkey in 2002.
Overall, the most noticeable figure for the expenditure of all countries went to food/drink and tobacco. Whereas the proportion of spending on leisure and education was the lowest out of three types.
Out of the five nations, Ireland and Turkey showed the biggest amount of consumption in total. In term of food, drinks, tobacco, the proportion spent was highest in Turkey and Ireland, at around 32% and 29% respectively. While the figure for spending on leisure and education still highest in Turkey, it was significantly low in Ireland with only 2.21% compared to 4.35% in Turkey.
In the remain countries, there was a similar in most of three items. However, Italian citizens showed an impressive interest in clothing/footwear with exactly 9% of incomes was spent. In contrast, consumers in Sweden decided to use only 5.4% of their budget for Clothing/Footwear and even less than a half for food/drinks and tobacco compare to Turkey.
