The table below shows information about the population of New Zealand from 2011 to 2012 by age group

The chart compares the changes of resident about age group in New zealand area between 2010 and 2012.
Overall,the population in New Zealand was tendency to increase at around 0.6% over the period shown while there was significant increase in the number of age group over 40 and decrease in group under 39 years old.
Over the following one year ( 2011-2012), we can see that, the number of people from 40-64 year-olds in New zealand slightly clime from 1,331,907 to 1,339,898 wherase a class of over 65 years-old increased in fourfold rising from 573,946 to 596,903. By contrast, the propotion of group of age under 15 and a class of 15-39 year-olds were the same which minimally decreased , at 0,2% , droping from 898,160 to 896,364 and from 1,577,256 to 1,574,102 respectively.
