Task 1 The graph below gives information about the percentage of people living in Australia who were born in Asia the UK and other regions

The line graph illustrates the proportion of people who were born in Asia, the UK, and other regions inhabited in Australia between 1976 to 2011.
It is clear that the percentage of people born in Asia increased significantly throughout the period while this figure for the UK had a declining trend.
Starting at about 14% in 1976, the UK had the highest percentage of people living in Australia. However, this figure continuously declined to hit a low of around 5% in 2011. By contrast, the proportion of Asian people living in Australia was at the lowest point at around 3% in 1976. From 1976 to 2011, The native Asians settling down in Australia surged dramatically until reading the peak of 15% in the last year of the period. The other countries saw a considerable fall from 12% to around 7% in the first 10 years before significantly growing in the number of residents living in Australia from about 7% to around 14%.
The total population of Australia took up the highest percentage at about 23% in comparison with that of the UK, Asia and other regions. After falling considerably, Australia saw a significant rise in population to the end of the period before reaching the peak of 20% in the year 2011.
