The table illustrates the amount of carbon dioxide produced in five different countries between 2017 and 2018.
Overall, the United States and China had the highest CO2 production in 2017 and 2018 respectively. In addition, the number of carbon emissions released per person in the United States was the highest.
In 2017, China produced only 6.6 tonnes of carbon dioxide per person, while the United States had the highest amount produced with 20.1 tonnes per person. Additionally, India was placed third on the table with 15 tonnes. Both Japan and Russia had the same figure, 10 tonnes of carbon dioxide were made by one individual.
- During 2017, the figure for carbon dioxide manufactured in China was lower than that of the United States, with 5130 and 5682 million tonnes each. Until 2018, the figure for China rose 11% to 5694 million tonnes, whereas in the United States it only grew 2% to 5568 million tonnes. Moreover, Russia and Japan are the two countries that had no significant change in the production of carbon dioxide. Finally, in India, there was a slight growth of 8% to 1359 million tonnes in 2018.
