Given are two figures concerning criminality among Britons in terms of gender and age. It is evident that both sexes experience the same trend of criminal convictions when the number of offenders is high during their adolescence and low in later life.
Starting at 2% among 10 year-olds, the rate of male offenders exponentially grow during their teenage before reaching a peak of 16% at the age of 20. Meanwhile, at the same age group, there is a moderate increase in the rate of female criminals from zero to the highest point of approximately 5%. Criminal rates, after their 20s, enjoys a decline to their beginning points amongst 60 year-olds of man and women.
Crimes, however, committed by men outnumber that by women at all age groups. Among 20 year-olds, the rate of male convictions is 16%, while this number of their female counterparts is a mere 5%. At the age of 10 and 60, the rates are both 2% for males and 0% for females, respectively. Moreover, 96% prison inmates are men, and the remainder 4% are women.
