Both maps display a paradise island, in the past and in the present it was developed for tourism.
Overall, there have been several changes, the most noticeable being the permission of swimming in the sea, scientific research station was disappeared from the map and there were built an hotel complex, moreover the palm trees were cut-down and replaced with a restaurant and a swimming pool.
One change that stands out is that there has been a significant redevelopment over the whole period. In the past there were just a scientific research station, a natural spring and palm trees. Now there are neither palm trees nor scientific research station left, although the natural spring is still there. The pier seaward still stands as it did in the past but it was extended.
Another noticeable change is that was built a cycle path inside the island. Additionally, the palm trees were cleared to make way for a restaurant, a BBQ area and a swimming pool. Moreover, the scientific research station was converted into a complex of hotel. In the past there was a boat to the south-west of the island, but now there is a cruise ship being the same direction.
