The two maps below show road access to a city hospital in 2007 and in 2010.
Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make
comparisons where relevant.
The diagrams illustrate the layout of a route accessing to a
City hospital as it was in 2007 and how the same area looked
in 2010 after having been developed.
In general, the area underwent drastic changes in facilities
and transport systems. The most significant differences
could be seen in the removal of a bus station and the
construction of two roundabouts and another car park.
At the original junction between Ring Road and Hospital
Road, a new roundabout was built in 2010. At the end of the
road, people could reach the crossroad with City Road in
2007 where another roundabout was erected in 2010.
In 2007, there were six bus stops on Hospital Road, and
three ones were located on each side. However, these bus
stops were removed to pave the way for a bus station to the
left, which led to the aforementioned roundabouts.
In 2007, a car park for both staff and the public stretched
along the eastern side of Hospital Road, giving an access to
the hospital. In the next 3 years, this only served staff
members and a new car park for public use was constructed
to the east of the hospital.
