UK Telephone Call, by category, 1995-2002

The bar graph compares three different types of telephone calls in terms of the number of minutes used in the UK over a period of time from 1995 to 2002.
Overall, it can be seen that the local fixed line was the most used telephone type during the whole period, while the mobile (all calls) was the least used type of telephone during the period by the British people.
When looking at the details, in 1995, the minutes of communication through local fixed line were just above 70 billion minutes. Between 1995 and 1999 this figure rose gradually, and in 1999 reached its peak, 90 billion minutes. However, this figure fell gradually between 200 and 2002 period. At the end of the period the figure for local fixed line came back to its beginning level 70 billion minutes.
In contrast, the figure for national and international fixed lines and mobile phones went up during the period. The national and international fixed lines figure saw a steady increase thorough out the period . By the end of the period it touched 60 billion minutes comparing to the below 40 billion in 1995. An increase by 20 billion minutes. Similarly, the mobile calls also shows a upward trend, but more faster than the former. The minutes of calls via mobile were less than 5 billion in 1995. However, this figure went up gradually till 1999 , from there its rocketed, and in 2002 it touched almost 45 billion minutes, a nine fold increase comparing to the initial figure.
