The diagrams below show the design for a wave-energy machine and its location.
Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features and make comparisons where relevant.
You should write at least 150 words.
The above chart illustrates how a machine generates electricity from wave and the options of location where the machines should be installed to induce maximal and minimal amount of energy.
Regarding the process of electricity manufacture, wave movements accelerate water levels contained in the ground chamber, which triggers air pressure to flow up, accordingly making the first turbine spin. Simultaneously, the other source of air from the top of the machine also flows down, activating the second turbine. The air in and out continuously occurs in the chambers in order for the unstoppable operation of the two turbines. Apparently, the stronger wave movements are, the greater air pressure is created, which definitely yields more significant amount of electricity.
The below image clearly demonstrates the possible locations for setting up the electricity generating machines as well as their cost estimations. Smaller machines that consume a handful of money in installation are suggested to be situated near the coast where low levels of ocean water are stored. As a result, insignificant amount of electricity would be generated. In contrast, the huge machines whose water containers are spacious should be located in deep water areas and far away from the coastal line.
