The graph illustrates the ratio of the population aged 65 and over from 1940 to 2040 in three 3 different nations namely Japan, Sweden and the USA. It is measured in percentage.
Overall, the all nations saw fluctuations all over the period and they assumed to increase by 2040.Moreover, it assumed Japan and the USA swap their positon but Sweden retain it’s spot.
A more detail look at the chart reveals, in 1940 the ratio of the population in Japan was 5 percent and after that it started to diminish and it continued until 1985. during 1985-2030, there will be a constant rise and the percentage of Japan will be more than doubled. At the end of the period, Japan's proportion of the population will grow sharply (roughly tripled).
According to the graph, the percentage of the ratio of the population in Sweden and the USA calculated about 7 and 9 percent respectively and the proportion of both of them grew until 1980 (approximately 15%). However, the ratio of the USA will dramatically decline between 1980 and 2020 and then it will be reach more than 25%. Sweden experienced an upward trend with a minor fluctuation and the percentage of the population will more than 25%.
