Teachers and lecturers have a very important role in education. So correct convey of knowledge is crucial. If I found something wrong in any lecture or lesson I would have talked to the lecturer at the end instead of rightaway . I usually say my fact against the speaker by asking question and this helps the speaker to be more comfortable.I think saying nothing cause problem in the future and saying rightaway makes some distraction in the lecture. Thus,I think it is better to correct them at the end of the class or session.
First of all, teachers concentrate on their talk and interrupting them in the middle of the class could make distraction and they can not continue their lessons. For example, I was in charge of class when I was working as assistant professor and I remember sometimes I said something by mistake unintentionally and some of student tried to correct me and after that ,I forgot the points that I wanted to say. Thus, it was not helpful and even I would say it was intruding.
Furthermore, people have the right to access to an accurate information. In fact ,not saying anything cause problem for students and audience. Also makes problem for them in the future and it is better to be clarified for them.I think the best approach could be at the end of session. In this approach ,the sequence of lecture is not influenced. For instance, correction at the end of session helps the speaker to consider a way to convey the correction to their audience. They do not feel uncomfortable and the lesson would be more fruitful.I remember most of the time in question and answer session this kind of problem was addressed and clarified.
In addition, some mistakes are completely obvious and everybody can distinguish them .Insisting to correct them is wasting time and unnecessary. For example, when a lecturer shows something in the slides and unintentionally call it something else it is completely clear for people what does the speaker mean.So there is no need to any correction rightaway or afterward.
In conclusion, I think depend on the type of mistake it is better to correct the lecturer afterward.Interrupting them has no advantage for student and only interrupt the talk and even due to distraction makes problem.
