Physical Punishment
The reading and lecturer are both about what are the advantages and disadvantages of physical punishment. The author believes that physical punishment can lead to two possibilities such as hating their parents or their parents don't love their children. The lecturer casts doubts on the claim made in the article. She thinks that it can be used to teach children about the discipline and self estimation.
First of all, The author point out that children may have fear of getting punish or parents make take always certain privileges from them if they are performing bad act. It is mentioned that this make the behavior of the children different form the usual one, but the lecturer challenges this point with self estimation which can be taught to children if they are capable to understand. For Instance if you are try to punish a small two year old child they would not understand much of the different, so we should punish children but not to the cause of getting them away from there parents. Furthermore, she argues that we should punish children as per there way of understanding rather than increasing the relation difference between child and parent relationship.
Secondly, the passage assert that even though you puinsh your children don't do it often or in more aggrestion this will lead to more hater and discomfort between the behavoiur of an children. It is menationed that try to disciplin them properly to follow ertain rules and regulation right from their childhood this would not lead to difficulties. The leturer rebuts this by explaining you should not only scold your children but also apperciate and motivate them if they perform or do somthing good. She suggest this would nurture the relationship between you and youe children. she also elaborates that it would be strengthening the small gaps between you and the child giving positive structure to the relation.
Finally, the author establishes that it is good to motivate you children for their good as well as punish and scold them if they are wrong, but it should not be creating consequence. whatever you do it should be in your limit in order to have properly because they eventually will affect the behavior of your child.
