The reading passage discusses about problems associated with travel to the mars and in the lecture,the professor gives solutions to solve the problem.She states traveling to the Mars is challenging but by these solutions it could be possible and could be managed.
First of all, the speaker claims that by the new method of planting and growing crops in water which is called hydropunic, astronomers can produce food crops in the space and cultivate them in little space.Also by this method the plant can use co2 of the air and produce oxygen for them and they can solve the problem of long time being in the space.Furthermore, they can recycle water and reuse the water with special tools in the cabins.
Moreover, the professor states by several technics astronomers can solve the problem of zero gravity which can hurt their body and health.By testing in other spacecraft orbitting around the earth, they found that several exercises can prevent these harmful effects and taking calcium tablet can increase the decline of bone mass due to zero gravity.
Lastly, the lecturer says dangerous level of space radiation which the reading points out is not constant and it happenes occationally. She states by monitoring this radiation and using sheild which is not heavy, astronomer can protect themselves in the time of dangerous radiation from the sun . So, these can keep them safe.
