The reading states that, recent discoveries has shown the possibility of life on mars and provides three reasons of support. However, the professor clams that mars is an unfriendly planet and has ambiguity that it possesses life and refutes each point provided by the reading.
First, the reading claims that presence of methane on large amount, reading says meth amine bacteria on mars produce methane, is an evidence of life on mars. The professor opposes this point by saying that methane on mars may be due to volcanic eruption and discovery of active volcano supports professor point.
Second, the reading posit presence of maladroit on asteroid found on earth which came from mars points toward sustainability of life on mars as maladroit is produces by bacteria. But the professor claims that the asteroid had been on earth for more than 13000 years and has been contaminated contradicting the claims made by the reading.
Third, the reading says that presence of hydrogen on top soil of mars which shows the possibility of liquid water on mars showing possibility of life on mars. In the contrast to the reading, the professor says that the water found is ice which is even harsh for the existence of life.
