The articcle states that internal-combuston engines have several demerits compared to fuel-cel engines and provides three reasons of support. However, the lecture explains that the reasons are not enough to justify that fuel-cel engines provide much advantages over internal-combuston engines and refutes each of the authors reasons.
First, the article claims that fuel-cel engines have available and renewable resources. However, the lecture explains that although the resouce of petrolium is finite, the main resource of fuel named hydogen is not easily availbale too. Hydrogen can be derived from water and air. but to make iit usable it has to be formed into pure liquid state which is highly artificial. The hudrogen needs to be kept in minus 253 degree celsious to keep it in a liquid state.
Second, the article posits that hydrogen-based fuel cells cause less pollution to the environment. However the lecture refutes the reason by saying that, although the car using hydrogen-based fuel cell doesn't pollute the environment, the purification process of this fuel pollutes the environment immensely. To purify the fuel oil or coal need to be burnt. So, if not the car pollutes the environment, the factory which purifies the fuel will definitely pollutes the environment.
Thid, the article states that fuel-cel engines are cost effective as similar distance can be covered by less fuel energy. Again, in this case, the lecture opposes the reason by saying that the manufacturing cost of hudrogen-based fuel cell is costly. This clearly indicates that, although the fuel-cell powered car requires less fuel energy, the cost of that little or less fuel is higher than the petrolium.
