On contrast, the lecturer explains that this work can lead to terrible consequences. She mentions that many years ago, they did something similar for another tree and this movement killed other type of trees in the new area. Therefore, planting Torreya trees in a new land may cause to unpredictable outcomes.

Finally, the reading passage claims that keeping these trees in a researches center is an aid for their population to grow.
