TPO-25 - Integrated Writing Task
The passage discusses a set of clay jars that found in Iraq. The pasage describes that using these vessels as batteries is not convincing and provides three reasons to support that. In contrast, the professor rebuts all these three rasons by stating that there is a chanse these vesseles were used as batteries by ancient people.
First, the reading claims that because of absence ofmetal wire we can not consider these vessels as somethings to produce electricity. However, the lecture rejects this reasin by explaining that these vessels have found by regular people who do not know anything about axcavation. So, they might ignore the wires and consider them as useless stuff. As you can see, the reason that mentioned in the text is inconvincing.
Second, the article asserts that the copper cylinders inside the jars are similar to copper cylinders which discovered in other place. These things were used for holding scrolls. So, there is a chance that these sylinders were used to the same action. While the professors refutes this reason and states this prove anything. Furthermore, the theacher explaines that mabe after a while ancient people found that by applying liquid they could produce electricity.
Thirs, the text contends that what could ancient people have done with the electricity? Consequently, the passage describes that ancient people had no such electrical devices. So, using electricity was a nonsense. However, the woman in the lecture opposes this idea by describing that perhaps ancient doctors use this weird device as a tool to cure people, or even people can use from this device as a magic tool.
