In this set of materials ,the reading passage suggests three possible solutions to help the birds from being injuries as they cannot have the capability to distinguish between the transparent glass and the open air. However, the professor finds each of the three ideas dubious and skeptical and unlikely to help them and provides some evidence to refute them all.
First of all, the reading passage claims that the one way glass will solve the problem as it transparent only from inside but outside the birds cannot see through the window. On the contrary, the professor refutes that probable solution and he explains that the one way glass reflects a mirror in the outside and the mirror always reflects the light from the sky. So, when the birds see the reflection, they will think that is the sky's reflection and go toward it. Therefore, this idea cannot be a logical solution.
Furthermore, the reading passage mentioned that colorful designs will be promising solution as the drawings and lines will going to fear the birds to fly through it. Also, at the same time the drawings will have many halls allowed the people to see the outside through it. However, the professor opposites this point by saying that the halls between the design will encourage the birds to come and fly through them. Another problem that the drawings will make inside building too dark to the people. Hence, it cannot solve the problem effectively.
Finally, the reading passage asserts that introducing magnetic field will be useful in rejects the birds away from the building as the author claimed that the birds have great ability to sense the magnetic fields and they used it when navigation. In contrast, the professor refutes this point by explaining that the birds use the magnetic fields only when they migrate in the winter from the cold place to the warmer place but, in case of short distances they depend on their eyes. Thus, the magnetic field will not assist the birds.
