The lecture and the reading are discussing the possibility of flying the Pterosaurs which was a special kind of dinosaurs. The passage explains about the impossibility of the flying this kind of dinosaur and proposes some reasons for this assertion. However, the professor in the lecture challenges this hypothesis and gives some illustrations that oppose the passage.
First, the professor in the lecture believes that the Pterosaurs had the warm-blood metabolism, therefore, they could have had enough energy to fly. He illustrates that this kind of dinosaurs had a dense hair-like covering which should have been for keeping them warm. Hence, they were warm-blooded. The professor's acclaim is in contrast to the passage that states dinosaurs were similar to reptiles; thereupon, they should have been cold-blooded, so, they did not have enough energy for flying.
Second, the professor in the lecture acclaims that Pterosaurs had hollow anatomy; hence, they were enough light to be able for flying. The professor explains that although these dinosaurs were huge, but their body was hollow; therefore, they should have had low weight and could fly. This allegation challenges the argumentation of the reading that states, the Pterosaurs were very heavy because of their big size; hence, they were not being able to fly.
Third, the lecture asserts that Pterosaurs take up by their four legs. The professor states that these dinosaurs had different taking up from birds; the birds use their legs and jump to fly. However, because these dinosaurs had weak leg muscles, hence, they should have used their all four legs, not just back ones. This explanation is contrary to the passage that states these dinosaurs should have taken up similar to birds, but their back leg muscles were weak, therefore, they could not fly.
All in all, the professor in the lecture challenges the points in the passage about the ability of Pterosaurs to fly. He believes that these dinosaurs were able to fly because they were warm-blooded, hollow, and use their four legs for taking up.
