The lecture and the reading passage both discuss how did the dinosaurs survive the wintertime?. and these dinosaurs lived on the North Slop which was inhospitable during the winter due to total darkness for several months. On the one hand the reading stat that they survived the winter bu migrating south to more suitable environment. On the other hand, the lecture refutes this, by stating that the migration not applicable.
First of all, the text claims that during cold and dark climate there was not plant growth which was the main source of food, so they had to migrate to find their food. However, the lecture argues that in the summer the North Slope because of warm weather, the availability of plant was huge , and they can fed on it in summer and in winter they can eat the dry plants.
In addition, the reading makes the arguments is that edmontosaur lived in herd so they migrate with each other. The lecture counter this point by stating that living in herd does not mean migration all the time, and some animals live in herd for protection. And the lecturer state that Alcka lives in herd without migration.
Lastly, the reading passage argues that these animals were physically capable to run fast without any complication. The lecture refutes this claims by pointing out that their were juvenile within the herd and they cannot run fast as well as the mature one. Also, the adult cannot leave the youngest alone.
