Reading is a very good habit. People read books for different reasons. Some people read books as their hobby, and some read to keep themselves updated. There are two types of books: fiction and non-fiction. Fiction books are based on writer’s imagination, whereas non-fiction books are based on facts, and reality. I think, people should read both types of book, because both books have their own advantages. Fiction books are interesting and non-fiction books increase our knowledge about various subjects. Therefore, I disagree with the above statement.

First, fiction books are very interesting books. People enjoy reading these books, because it feels relax after reading this books. For example, I read non-fiction books before go to bed, because it helps me to reduce my stress, and takes me to the imaginative dream world, where I forget all my tensions and then I can easily sleep with my relax mind. Writers of non-fiction books have special qualities in their writing. When we read their books, we could imagine that in our mind, as it is happening live. All these are writer’s imagination and not real, but people still read this, because they enjoy reading fiction.

In addition, books like fairy tales which we use to read in our childhood are not real. These are also imaginary stories and all children like to read it.

Second, books contain information about real events, real facts, and real people are non-fiction books, which are read by everyone to keep themselves updated. These books increase our knowledge about History. It explains about, how people use to live in past days; how things change from ancient period; leader’s contribution; scientific and technological development; various inventions, and many more. These books help to increase our general knowledge, and therefore we should read these books.

Finally, people like to read, when there is something interesting to read, whether it is news in newspaper, stories related to famous people, or imaginary stories. Every book teaches us something, either it enhances our knowledge or entertain us. So, I think people should read both types of books, fiction and non-fiction.
