The graph below shows the percentage change in the number of international students
graduating from universities in different Canadian provinces between 2001 and 2006.
Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features and make comparisons where relevant.
The bar chart compares the variation in the percentage of oversea students who graduated from universities in different provinces in Canada over a 5 year period from 2001 to 2006.
It is clear that there were some discrepancies between the proportions of international graduates. Moreover, New Brunswick remained the university with the highest number of international students.
In 2001, the proportion of foreign students was at a low level, ranging from 3 to 7 percent. More specifically, the majority of students from other countries were educated in New Brunswick with 7%, which was a bit higher than the figure for Nova Scotia and Quebec, at around 6%. However, the rate of foreign graduates in other provincial universities was much lower, at below 4%.
Canadian universities experienced a sustainable rise in the ratio of oversea students except for Alberta where the share declined after 5 years. By 2006, the university that had the largest percentage was New Brunswick which climbed by 5% to reach a high of 12 %. Similarly, the proportion of people studying in Nova Scotia and British Colombia also witnessed a noticeable soar, increasing to approximately 11% whereas the percentage of foreign students in other universities was at a smaller rate of 8%.
