The table shows the 8 different types of travelling vehicle by average distance in miles in England from the year of 1985 to 2000.

Overall, car was the most preferred mode of travel in both 1985 and 2000. While the taxi had the least miles in 1985, bicycle has lowest distance in 2000. In sum of all modes, people more travelled in 2000 than 1985.

In 1985, people were walked 255 miles averagely while 237 miles were walked by people in the year of 2000. Bicycle was the one of the decreased mode because it had 51 miles distance at beginning of the period and it decrease by 10 miles. (41 miles.) The most using vehicle, car, had the highest number in the years of 1985 and 2000. (3,199 and 4.806 respectively) In addition, choosing of local bus was decreased in 15 years such as it was 429 miles in 1985 and 274 miles in 2000.

Despite of local bus, long distance bus usage was increased by more than two times, 54 miles to 124 miles. The other one was train that raised 77 miles from 1985 to 2000. In the same way, people got in to taxi more in 15 years because in 1985, it had just 13 miles and reached to 42 miles. Other mode of travel was 450 miles as summary and increased to 585 miles in 2000. Results of all modes summary show the almost 2000 miles increase between 1985 and 2000.
