Presently, the idea of wearing uniform at offices is initiated by many people especially employers. I strongly agree with this concept because dress code would give both us and our company a lot of benefits.
Manifolds reasons support the thought of setting uniform at work. Firstly, uniform can create benchmark and dilute social gap. This is very beneficial for us as employee because social gap somehow have negative impact in our professional relationship and mental health. For instance, we will easily comparing our achievement to others through fashion and accessories if we are not restricted in our clothes. Additionally, through wearing a uniform, we can save our money more. We will think twice for buying new dresses or shirts because we do not have time to wear it as everyday we have our uniform to wear. Consequently, we will cut our spending in something that is not urgent.
Regarding benefit that companies could gained through creating dress code, it can evidently grow self pride of the employees as a part of some company which directly affect their productivity and achievement in work. A study in Indonesia said that 70% of the employee of stated-owned corporation felt pride to wear uniform and ID card while working. The study also investigate their respondents self pride score to their productivity and the results said that it had positive association.
To sum up, setting dress code at work place has many positive impacts whether for the employees or the companies. However, dress code should be designed as comfort and fashionable as can be so that the employees also love and pride to wear it.
