In our time and age a lot of people move to a new country to live or to work. They face numerous challenges so some say that they should follow the local culture while others think that they should create a community that keeps their own traditions. As both ideas have good points it should totally depend on individuals own choice, but in my opinion, the best way is to find a balance. As a mix of both can make the country more interesting and diverse.
On the one hand, many people say immigrants should follow the local culture. This helps them faster become part of society. For example, learning the language, obeying local rules, and joining local events can help immigrants make friends and thus find jobs, due to which people can build their lives. It also helps local people accept them more easily. Also, when everyone follows the same culture, there are might appear fewer misunderstandings and conflicts.
On the other hand, some believe that immigrants have to keep their own culture and live in communities with others from their country. This helps them feel safe and comfortable, especially when they are far from home as well as it will help to keep the uniqueness of their culture and traditions. They can speak their own language, eat familiar food, celebrate their holidays and teach their kids about culture . These communities can also support each other and make life in a new country easier. However immigrants should respect and learn about the local culture, thus individuals should keep a balance and be free to keep their own traditions. People can learn from each other and live peacefully together.
In conclusion, some people think immigrants should fully adopt the new culture, while others think they should keep their own. I believe a mix of both is the best choice for a happy and united society.
