I send you this letter. I want to talk about a special day in my country – that’s your care!
Within all of hoiliday in vietnam, lunar new year (known by called name tet) is the most important and special hoiliday.
tet starts from on 1st lunar January every year and continutes 3 days. However, people start to prepare everything from lunar december.
they decorate their house, grow flowers in the garden, make Chung cake, make Jams, make dried candied fruits, make traditional cakes…
On 23th lunar december, people to offer a farawell cerrmony for Kitchen Gods to go up to Heaven Palace.
Asean believe in other world, where human live after death. So that, they worship the ancestors. In the altar always prepare five-fruit tray incluce: custard apple, coconut, papaya, mango and other food and cakes. they want their relatives to eat as well as they do.
On the Before new year’s eve, people will gather together and eat good food. On the new year’s eve peoople get together to see Fireworks and say that “happy new year” when the clock at 12.00 a.m
In the tet hoiliday, Adult give lucky money in red envelope to the elderly and children to wish them a happy and lucky new year. some people like to go pagoda to pray. some other people like to visit relatives and friends. they wish their friends forget about the trouble of the past year and hoping for a better new year.
Although tet just continutes 3 days, people still go on 10 days. tet holiday will stay in the heart of Vietnamese for generations.
