In the lecture, the professor makes a series of points that cast doubt on the all the solusions presented in the reading passage about the saving the frogs species around the world and preventing their population decline. The professor states non of these solusions are practical and solve the problem.
First of all, the lecturer states decreasing the use of pestiside in farmeland near the sensitive frog population which was suggested in the reading is not practical and fair. This outcompetes the farmers who have farmland out of sensitive area compare to farmers who work in sensitive area and can not use pesticide. This has sever disadvantage for them and makes their crop less and their profit lesser.
Secondly, the speaker claimes the fungus skin in frog population needs indivitual treatment for every frog which is very difficult. Capturing and treating thick skin frogs due to fungus is not an easy task. In addition, the disease passes to offsprings and each new generation of frog need indivitual treatment. This is contradicted to the reading passage.
Lastly, the professor states threatened wet habitats for frog is not only due to human action and global warming had lots of effect on entire species not the frog and all the species are declining due to global warming and less using wetland seems to be useless and unlikely to help.
