The reading specifies that there are three main reasons to support the idea that memoir is not accurate and some events invented to be exciting. However, the lecturer casts doubt on this claim and brings up three reasons to reject the specific points made in the reading passage.
First of all, the author asserts that he claimed he was wealthy in Switzerland whereas he borrowed money from a merchant. Nevertheless, the lecturer states he had many properties and wealth but they were not cash. It took time converting staff to cash. That is why he borrowed money.
Second, based on the reading the conversations between him and famous people are expressed too accurate. Indeed, it seems impossible he remembered details of their conversations after several years. On the contrary, the lecturer contradicts the idea reasoning that he wrote whatever he remembered every nights right after conversations and he kept them for years.
Third, the reading proposes that his escape from the prison in Italy does not make sense. In contrast, the lecturer dismisses the idea due to many prisoners were stronger than him and his friends but they could not escape. Furthermore, after his escape prisons room repaired. These causes virtually show whatever he has written about his escape is right.
