Write a letter to a friend. You have borrowed something from your friend and it got damaged.
Apologize for damaging the product
Explain what happened
Say how are you going to fix the issue
Hi Rita,
I am sorry for writing so late, but I would like to explain to you why I have not yet return the book I have borrowed from you.
I have to own up that I have damaged the book accidentally. I can understand how important that book was to you as it was gifted to you by your late father.
What happened is when I was reading the book, I knocked over my cup of tea and tea got splashed over the pages which were open at that time. Almost all the pages are full of stains now.
However, I have given that book at the repair center, and they will make it up so that it will look new. I will be getting the book next week from the repair center, and then I will send it on to you.
Again, I am sorry for the delay in telling you. I hope you can forgive me.
Thanks and Regards,
Vandana Mankotia
