In twenty years, there will be fewer cars in use than there are today.
More convenience for human beings was the major aim in the invention of the car. Beside of all advantages of this invention, there are some drawbacks that make it feasible to observe fewer cars in the future. I will render my reasons as follows.
First of all, as a transportation engineer, I know that there is a correlation between the road capacity and the number of cars. Nowadays, the demand for cars is increasing but the road capacity is constant. Any of us has stuck in a traffic jam, gotten nervous, seen impatient drivers reaction, and wasted time and energy. Time costs as a gold and it is not sensible to waste it in a non profitable action. Therefore, when there is no suitable basis for infrastructure, supplying more cars in markets is not reasonable and just fill car factories pockets. In this situation, a cultural action is needed to persuade citizens using public transportation.
Secondly, conservation of fuel is an important responsibility on our shoulders for the next generation. Excavation needs too many costs, much time and energy. On the other hand, utilizing innovative methods like using the sun, hydric, and mechanical energies are not efficient until the next twenty years.
Thirdly, the most important drawback in using cars is pollution, whether air pollution or sound pollution. Contaminated air causes terrible disasters such as lung cancers and infants with disordered genetic. In addition, pollution from fuel burning can destroy valuable monuments which present our culture and civilisation. Moreover, sound pollution produces persistent headache. Health is a serious factor for human survival. Scientist's experiments illustrate that ancient people were healthier than us.
All in all, I hope in twenty years, there will be fewer cars in use because all of us gain from that. Decreasing air and sound pollution, illness, and fuel consuming are the results of using fewer cars.
