The article states that the Christopher Columbus was and still as the hero with respect to the American’s inhabitants, because he contributed in the birth of United States, and provides three reasons of support. However the professor explains that what mentioned in the reading passage was not true and refutes each of the authors’ reasons.
First, the reading claims that Columbus was the symbols of progress and he interested in the freedom and seeking of new land plus he was a courageous man. The professor refutes this point by saying the priority of the Columbus was how to achieve the profit, he employed in the king of Spain as a businessman. He states that Columbus interested in buying gold and silver and not the liberty.
