According to the reading passage, non-expert people in Iraq found a set of ancient clay jars when they had been work on the railroad construction in 1936. Each jars contained a copper cylinder with iron cover so, the archaeologist guessed, jars may be used as an electric batteries.
Although the reading passage opposes to this claim but, the professor has some reasons in favour of ancient jars. The reasons described in following.
First, The reading passage claims if the jars had been used as the batteries,their wires should have found in the vicinity of the jars. But the professor say the excavetors were non-expert and they probably thought the wires had not value.
Second, reading passage describe that the similar copper cylinders had found in other ancient places which they had been held the scrolls of the sacred texts. However the professor confirmed the similar excavations but, he think the ancient people found that these cylinders can be used as electricity generators through the time.
At last, eventhough the reading passage claims that the ancient people had not any devises worked with electricity but, the professor say they may be use them as medicene or magic power.
