rewarding system in companies
Both lecture and passage discuss rewarding system in business places. The passage states that this approach, getting rewards to employees in tied of their performance, increase the employees’ motivation to work harder and the productivity in any company. In the opposite, the professor denies this passage’s claim by giving some information.
To begin with, the professor refer to the feedback results of workers who experience the reward system. He says that these worker showed disapproval toward this system because they know after rewards more working is expected by managers. Furthermore, the professor states that it is true there are many uncontrolled studies showing more productivity in some companies through rewarding system deceivably, but in fact there are many studies showing opposite of this, decreasing productivity by applying such rewarding system.
The professor mention that such rewords means like punishment by employee. In fact the process of compensating their productivity with rewards make them to feel manipulating with their managers. Most of time, the worker don’t receive their expecting rewards, so they will be disappointed by this.
The professor also claims that rewarding system is likely to damage collaborating between workers and their supervisor. The workers will not be comfortable with their supervisor because they are those persons who will judge and calculate the workers’ performance. Hence, they will not talk about their problems with their supervisor and this lead to declining the productivity of workers and companies.
In conclusion, even though the reading state that rewarding system is an effective approach to improve productivity in companies, but the professor disagrees with this opinion and states an opposite result of this approach, decreasing productivity in companies.
