You live in a room in college which you share with another student. However, there are many problems with this arrangement and you find it very difficult to study/work.
Write a letter to the accommodation officer at the college. In the letter:
describe the situation
explain your problems and why it is difficult to study/work
say what kind of accommodation you would prefer
Dear Mr Shah,
I am currently accommodated at New Hall where I share the room 8B with one of my classmates. Although I am pleased with the room itself, I find that it is becoming impossible to live with my current room-mate anymore.
There are two reasons for this situation. Firstly, she enjoys listening to music at a very high volume, and this is something other surroundings student, and I find disturbing. The second problem is that she often throws big parties and invite a big group of people to our room late in the evening. I have requested he not to do this, but my requests have been ignored, and she continues to do it anyway.
Clearly, these two issues are making it almost impossible to focus on the study. At present, I am studying in the library which is not always convenient. Besides, the hostel rules strictly state that student must refrain from making too much noise and not have visitors late in the evenings.
Therefore, if not possible to move my room-mate out, I would like you to find another similar accommodation for me. I do not mind sharing it with other pupils, but prefer to have a single room.
I look forward to your reply
yours sincerely,
James Wills
